Sore Throat
Last night was a terrible night! It all started with a lunch date on Tuesday and Mason was extremely cranky and just not himself. Wednesday when he woke up I could tell he didn't feel good and he had a low temperature. We called and got into the doctor and the doctor said his throat was a little red and gave us an antibiotic. I'm glad I didn't just ignore it and chalk it up to teething, which is what I thought it was. He now has 6 teeth and our top and bottom gums are swollen like we have more on the way. Last night Mason's fever spiked and he was burning up. He was pulling at his pajamas and just screaming. I stripped him down to his diaper and only could get him to sleep on top of me in bed. While his fever broke he was drenched in sweat and his whole body was shaking on top of mine because he had the chills so bad. It was the worst and most helpless feeling I've ever had. He also had gas really bad and puked up his bottle on Jamie in our bed. He had diarrhea twice today but by this evening has been his honery and happy self again. The doctor assured us he would be fine for his party this weekend. We'll see. Other than last night, Mason has been awfully busy. I'm going to go ahead and count his first actual word as "juice." He loves saying it and will repeat it over and over now. Words that Mason says are: dada, mama, dodo for dog, duh duh for duck, juice, my juice, and all done. He tries repeating EVERYTHING we say now. He carries everything around in his mouth like he's a dog now. He'll bite down on his sippy cup and crawl across the house on all fours like he needs it with him wherever he goes. Last week he splashed out all of Rosie's water out of her water dish and I caught him, forgot to clean it up, and slid across the kitchen and fell.... The baby gate has also injured me more than saved Mason from being injured.... These toddler days of Mason falling down and going boom are also times when his parents will be falling down and going boom also! He pulls out all of the dvd's on a regular basis as well as taking all of the kleenexes out of the box and trying to eat them. I'm not going to list all of the things I've caught him eating. He is also soo SHY. He is a wild monkey around his close family but anytime he is around someone outside his comfort zone he won't talk or smile at anyone. I tried to get some pictures of his teeth but it didn't work out as planned. In one picture though his lips are puckered as he is saying juice. I don't even try to put videos on here because it takes way too long.
