Over the Weekend

Over the weekend Aunt Jen came to visit! Mason had so much fun reading his book to her. He has also made a new friend, Jake, Jen's laberdoodle. Jake is around 100 lbs and Mason and him both are equally fascinated with each other. Mason loved talking to his new buddy. Saturday morning Mason also tried a new food. Pancakes! He loved them of course. We thought it would be funny to put Jamie's plate in front of him for a picture and Mason dug his hands into the pancakes and was massaging them. Needless to say he smelled like syrup for quite awhile that day.

So Aggressive

Mason is such an aggressive player with his toys. He is always figuring out how to take something apart, knock it over, and especially pull it down over himself or bump himself in the head with it. We are still only rocking on our knees, no crawling. He does still manage to move around though. He loves his bouncer so much that now anytime he sits on your lap, he starts bouncing because he expects everything else to bounce also. We jabber all day long, even when noises aren't coming out of our mouth, his little mouth is still moving like he is whispering sentences to himself. One of his new favorite things to do is turn around to me and lay on my stomach and push himself up into a push up/standing position. He loves to hold on to things and pull up and stand up. He gets such a big grin on his face because he is so proud of himself. I cannot believe Wednesday he turned 8 months old! Where does the time go???

All Smiles

Mason has been tugging on his ears quite a bit so I've been wondering if we have an ear infection. I've also heard that when they are teething they pull at their ears quite a bit. He seems to be in a great mood so I don't think he isn't feeling well. For the past week or two he has been very talkative and experimenting with all of the different noises he can make. It's all very cute except he has realized that he can make a VERY LOUD SHRILL HIGH PITCH SCREAM. He isn't screaming because something is wrong, he just smiles and sees how loud he can get. At first I thought it was funny and cute but now I wish I could teach him to turn his volume down. I only hope he doesn't choose to do this in public, people will for sure think I am beating him!

Happy Valentines Day!

Mason had such a good valentines day. We started the morning off with Grandma and Grandpa Lawrence, visited Great Great Grandma Tedstrom, then finished the afternoon off by giving Grammy and Mal their valentine gifts also. We ate some valentine cookies for lunch...oops. Mason had fun sporting his valentine shirt mommy made for him. I tried to get some pictures of it but you can't make out what it says completely. "hunk a burnin' love." Haha. Mason got a new outfit, a jack in the box, a ku shirt, a huskers shirt, an elmo book, a valentine teddy bear, a valentine puppy dog, AND, a valentine kisses elmo. SPOILED. It's okay though, it's not his fault he's so darn cute. This past week we have also started saying ma-ma, ga-ga, ba-ba. He has been saying da-da for awhile now. Of course he is just saying them and doesn't really know what he is saying, but it is still very exciting! Tomorrow (today) is Daddy's birthday and Mason can't wait for cake and ice cream! Hope everyone had a good valentines day!

Cuddle Time

Someone was being very snuggley wuggley last night. Of course he had to be super duper cute right before bed time. He always knows what to do to get me to let him stay up late.

Just a Swingin

Today was another nice day so we definitely took advantage of it. We met Chelse and Tylee at the park then visited Great Great Grandma. Mason and Tylee both sat on the merry go round and then got on the swings. The swings were more exciting. Of course we went to the park when it should have been nap time. The swings were about to put Mason to sleep.

Food Experimenting

Yesterday Mason told me he wanted to try out some new foods. I got this little munchkin feeder at my baby shower and totally forgot about it until now. It has a little mesh bag that you can put soft foods in and it allows the baby to chew and suck adult foods out of it without you having to worry about them choking on big pieces. The directions said you could put carrots, bananas, ice chips, melon, and berries, etc in it. I put carrots in it for Mase and he seemed to enjoy it except for the fact that he couldn't get enough out fast enough. I finally gave in and just gave him a whole carrot. It was very well cooked so it was really soft. He did pretty good. I held it so he wouldn't try to put the whole thing in his mouth at once. Later we ate honeycomb cereal. They were pretty similar to his puff snacks that he eats. His favorite new snack did seem to be the cookie though. (imagine that) Jamie did not approve of this snack because he is concerned about Mason's weight. The only set back with eating the cookie was that he liked it so much that he tried to shove the whole thing in his mouth at once. I was FORCED to eat half of it for him...darn it. It was a soft chewy cookie so it was easy for him to mash it with his gums and razor sharp bottom teeth. I mentioned how he was getting a tooth on a previous blog but I was wrong, he is getting 2 bottom teeth. They are so sharp!
