So Mischievous

Last night as I was trying to post these pictures someone figured out how to open up the drawer to the computer desk! Mason is becoming quite mischievous. Aunt Mal brought her doggies over to play with Rosie and Mason had a blast watching them run around like crazy. He is so into what Rosie does these days. When I feed him in his high chair sometimes Rosie will eat her dog food too and he leans over to see what she is doing. Suddenly he could care less about the food in front of him because he has to watch her. (yea crazy i know, you couldn't tell by the way he looks that he's ever passed up food! haha!) I'm glad Mason enjoyed ALL of the dogs because Mallory and I didn't have fun trying to watch three crazy puppies. Have a safe trip to OKC Grandma and Grandpa Lawrence, tell Jenn hi!

Babe Magnet

It is not easy taking pictures of Mason when one jealous dog wants to be the center of attention. I could barely get any pictures of Mason without Rosie! Mason also got up on his knees a couple of times and rocked back and forth like he was going to crawl! He did face plant into the floor, but we are getting so amazingly close! I'm sorry I didn't get any pictures of it but I was too afraid if I walked away that I would miss something! And how adorable are his leggings?! I'm in love with them. I found them on baby legs website and I SWEAR they are for boys! We got blue, green, and yellow. Jamie is not a huge fan of them; HOWEVER, I asked him one night after he'd had a few cocktails if I could order them and his response and I quote was "sure, I used to wear tights all the time for sports and skiing." Suddenly after I'd ordered them he was not cool with the idea. Sorry daddy, Mase loves them. I know this sounds crazy but he doesn't try to move as much when he's wearing pants. If he's naked or wearing the leggings he moves a lot more and tries harder. I think his big little booty feels too confined in all of his pants.

M.I.A.

Sorry for no posts last week but we were having several technology issues. I had the cutest video of him talking which will not load. Then, after getting some cute pictures of him all bundled up, our camera wouldn't load pictures. Today we bought a new camera only to find out that it was the usb cord, not the camera. Oh well, we were needing a new camera anyways. Here's the 411 of last week: Monday: Jamie's basketball game, Tuesday: went to the country club with friends to watch the KU v. Kstate game (Rock Chalk!) Mason was very good and passed around to many people. Wednesday: no idea... Thursday: loaded my kid up and took him to see Aunt Mal's new house (on one of the coldest days of the year) probably not a #1 mom decision but he had fun, Friday: went to stay with Gma and Gpa Lawrence, slept terribly, Saturday: hung out with Grammy and played with cousin Elsie...well he didn't really play because he wanted to sleep all day because he didn't sleep the night before. Sunday: went to Abbi's birthday party and devoured some ice cream. I will admit that I wasn't exactly paying attention to how much he was eating, I just kept shoveling it in his mouth and didn't realize he'd had half of a container until Jamie mentioned that he'd probably had enough. Once again, not a #1 mom decision, but hey I'm learning. After the party we watched football all day and Mason slept very well AND without a fight. Tonight, Monday (well now its actually Tuesday a.m. but anyways...) Mommy and Mason went to Zumba while Daddy had his second basketball game. Unfortunately they were at the same time. Daddy lost, again... :( Mason did not enjoy Zumba like I thought. He was cool at first but then every other song he would cry. I think it was due to lack of a nap and probably ready for a bottle. I have not given up the idea of taking him just yet. We'll try again Wednesday. Tuesday: today, yes it's 3 am and my child is in the swing next to me smiling as I type away about him. He had no nap and fell asleep too early for his bed time. SO... he is now awake fighting sleep. Thank goodness I don't have a job in the morning to get up for! Updates on new Mason actions: we lick our lips and make a puckering noise. It's hilarious. We know how to make all of our toys make noise. Hooray for that! (sarcasm) We are currently working on waving "hi" and "bye bye." He seems interested in it but not sold on the idea. Lately he has been getting on his knees with his face in the ground, or has his head and shoulders up but knees on the ground. Still haven't put two and two together but it's coming close. He also loves to scratch, pull hair, and pull on your nose. Mason is now hanging on to each side of his carseat handles. It looks like he's hanging on for dear life. I couldn't catch him in the act for a picture of that though.

Healthy 2009

Jamie and I both decided that at the beginning of the year we were going to try to get more fit and healthy. Haha, yeah I say this every year. Anyways, we have been on our diet for a week now and last night was the first next we started working out. I started Zumba and Jamie's basketball league started last night also. Mason had a blast at the basketball game. His head was going back and forth the whole time watching each end of the court. Monday and Tuesdays Mason will stay with Daddy while I'm at Zumba and Wednesday and Thursdays he is going to come with me. Hopefully he will be entertained. Mason has a new diet as well! I called the doctor yesterday to tell him how well Mason has been eating and how his little containers of baby food just aren't filling him up. He said we can move up to the second level of foodk. Yea, finally a bigger variety of food! Also, last weekend Jamie's parents helped us finally get their Christmas present to Mason put together. It's a busy ball drop that lights up and plays music. He loves it and also likes to hang on to it and stand up.

Helping with laundry

Playing!

Yesterday I really needed to catch up on laundry so I decided to put Mason in his room and see if he would play on his own. Sure did! When I would peek in at him he would just stare at me and sit there like he was so innocent. Everytime I would hide behind the corner he would pull out his toys and start to eat them. I guess he thought he was doing something wrong and needed to be sneaky about it. After he had pulled out his train, each time I would go check on him he was in some different position. I left him sitting up and when I went back he would be on his belly facing the toys, facing the doorway, facing his closet. He knows how to scooch sideways, backwards, and do circles...just not forward! Last night when I was playing with him I realized how these past 6 1/2 months all I've done is been so excited for him to do something new and move to that next developmental stage, when really it makes me so sad that I will never have any of those little newborn baby moments back.

Over the weekend

Here are just some random pictures from Friday and Saturday. Mason pretty much got a new wardrobe for Christmas so he has lots of new outfits to show off. Aunt Mal thought his little tushie looked so cute in his little jeans, she just had to have a picture of it. LOL. It was so nice out Saturday that we put him on the swing and he sat so well all by himself. I think it's neat having pictures of him on it when just 7 months ago I had my maternity pictures taken on that same swing and he was still in my belly. Crazy how time flies! I can't believe how big he is getting. I am so excited for him to start crawling, yet EVERYONE has told me not to wish it so soon because I will be chasing after him everywhere! I hope to not slack too bad with the blog now that Jamie and I bought a Wii today. It has consumed our entire day and Mason loves watching. He was laughing hysterically at me as I got all crazy and out of control playing tennis. It doesn't help that Jamie and I are both sooooo competitive.
