This Week

This will be the only post from the Lawrence family this week because Jamie and I are leaving for Mexico tomorrow and will not be home until Sunday. WooHoo for vacation! We are staying on an island outside of Cancun called Isla Mujeres. I am so excited but at the same time sad to leave my little man. Here are a few updates about him: we now LOVE standing on our own and are getting so good at it! We haven't tried taking steps by ourself, but it is coming soon I think. We love to find momma's belly button, not our own. We love to look at the front and back door, especially when Rosie is out there. We splash so much in the bath tub that the floor is always soaked by the time he is through. He used to just play quietly with his toys but now it is full blown splashing madness! The easter bunny brought him new pajamies that are a size 2T. They are definitely not too big and I had to stretch out the arms for him to get his huge biceps into them. Haha.

Hooray for Dandelions

Last Friday Mason and I spent quite awhile playing in the backyard. He had so much fun with all of the new textures to touch. We felt the soft grass, rough concrete, and the fluffy dandelions. He had lots of fun holding the dandelions and shaking them. The fluffies would fly off into the air and he would just watch in amazement.

Orschelns pics

I hope I don't get in any trouble for posting this but I found Mason's picture on Kelli Carnahan's blog site. We get to pick these pictures up on Saturday. I thought they turned out adorable. The animals look fake in the picture but they are real, ask Mason!

Grandpa's Helper

Thanks for the pictures Debbie, these are too cute! Mason stayed to the night with Grandma and Grandpa Lawrence on Wednesday while I went to a concert out of town. I'm sure this is only the first of many pictures of Mason helping Grandpa.

Easter Sunday

Sunday we had brunch at Grandma and Grandpa Lawrence's and then dinner at Grammy's house. Mason got a savings bond and 5 easter baskets. I think he did pretty well on goodies! He wasn't too interested in hunting eggs but when he saw what was inside the egg he got very excited. He loves snacks! The eggs had puffs, cheetos, goldfish, apple-jacks, and mini marshmallows. The easter bunny brought Mason a little car that you can scoot around on or change into a tall push around thing. He likes driving backwards in it. He backs it up to his toys to get whatever one he wants. He loves getting up by the computer chair and spinning the chair in circles. He never gets tired of it either! Monday night we gave him a green frog marshmallow thing and he demolished it. His face was green all around and he was covered in sugar. I had never seen a child so sticky in my life. It was hilarious to watch. Needless to say we got a bath after this.

My 1st Easter Egg Hunt

Saturday we went to the 1st annual Orschelns easter egg hunt. Mason had his picture taken with a real baby bunny and baby chicks. They were all so cute. Mason was so fascinated with all of the animals. He enjoyed petting the bunny a little too much. I was afraid we were going to be buying a dead bunny to take home. Mason's hunting consisted of sitting his tush down and marking his territory. In his reaching area he was able to get three eggs! (more candy than he needed)

Finally!

Finally, yesterday Mason crawled! He looks like a worm/caterpillar, but he has finally started to use his arms and knees to scooch around. For some reason he thinks he needs to use his head too, it's so funny to watch. I just figured he'd skip crawling and go to walking. The story to how this all came about is: Yesterday we woke up in a great mood, got dressed, and then decided to head to the kitchen for some breakfast. As I knelt down to pick him up he pulled up on me to stand so I decided we'd walk to the kitchen together. I held his hands as he walked down the hallway and he stopped by the door to wave to Rosie. (too cute!) We were so excited when Rosie decided to follow us to the kitchen. We made a pit stop by our monkey ball drop and plopped there to sit on our tush to play. Suddenly Mason spotted Rosie's chickie stick across the room. He plopped on his tummy and I thought nothing of it because he does this all the time but just never goes anywhere. Next thing I know Mason is scooching across the room and had picked up her chickie stick to put it in his mouth. eww.. Everytime I would move it away from him he would go after it. Rosie finally got tired of this and walked over, picked it up into her mouth, and took it away from him. Me: Haha, this is hilarious. Rosie: Damn baby, first he gets all the attention, then he has all these toys i'm not allowed to play with, all kinds of blankets i can't snuggle on, he gets special food i don't get any of, and NOW he's going after my treats! As if I wasn't excited enough yesterday about this new crawling business, Mason wowed me again! He has sort of been clapping for a while now, he claps his tummy, claps the air, but yesterday he also started clapping for real and can make noise. He was so fascinated with this new form of noise he can make that while we were laying down attempting to take a nap he was clapping. Today as I was on the computer Mason was playing with his monkey ball drop and was standing as usual. The music went off and he started cracking up. I looked over to see what was so funny and he was dancing! He was shaking his little tushie in the air laughing so hard. Jamie and I were cracking up. This has been a very exciting few days. I don't know where my little baby went but this little boy sure is fun! Of course all of these things happen when I don't have a cord for my camera! Luckily today I thought I would use my video camera that I always forget about. Hopefully I can load some dance footage later.
