10 weeks old

Mason is 10 weeks old today! He's growing like a weed. It's so much fun to watch him play. He smiles and coos and is starting to touch and grab his toys now. Last weekend was his first whole weekend staying in Independence with his grandparents. Mommy and Daddy stayed the night too, but he was away from us all day. They said he did really good. I think he liked the change in scenery because he had lots of new things to look at. I'm sure he also enjoyed his vacation from Rosie. Haha. Life has been pretty busy lately. The wedding plans are all coming together and it will be here before we know it. I don't know how I'm going to make it without my baby for a whole week when we're on our honeymoon. Sometimes I get tired of being cooped up in the house all day and just want a break. When I finally get a break to leave, I miss Mason the whole time! We have been trying to take advantage of the nice weather. Mason really likes the swing outside. We have also been going for walks but he seems to sleep through them. Mommy finally lost all of her baby weight! I have been doing the Atkins diet for a week and a half now and I hope I can continue to lose until the wedding. The bad thing is I usually do the diet hardcore for a few weeks and then get burnt out. I'm trying really hard to stay dedicated though.

2 Month Check up

Mason had his two month check up on Monday with Dr. Rose. Mason is now 24 inches long and weighs 13 lbs 10 oz! He is in the 90th percentile on the growth chart. He had to get three shots that day :( Poor little guy. It was not easy watching him cry and having to help hold him down. I knew I had to do it though because Jamie can't handle it. Mason is also taking big boy baths now in his froggy tub. He didn't seem to interested in the water but enjoyed looking at himself in the mirror above the countertop.

I forgot to mention that my 2 month old is now wearing 3-6 month clothing. Some of his 3-6 month clothing is even too tight on him. It doesn't seem like he eats all that much, I guess he's just a healthy growing boy. I'm anxious to see how much he weighs now.

Mason is so active now that he is able to enjoy his turtle play mat. Rosie thinks it's for her too..... He kicks his legs and waves his arms and by accident will hit the toys dangling down in front of him. It's so much fun watching his eyes light up when he sees the toys and all of the bright colors.

Finally!

Saturday night Mason's umbilical cord finally came off. He will be 2 months old Monday, I can't believe it took so long to fall off! He has his 2 month check up Monday and the Doctor told us if it was still on by then he would have to do something to get it off. I guess it happened just in time. My baby finally has a belly button! I can't wait to to be able to give him a real bath now!

Happy Birthday Grammy!

Today was Mason's Grammy's birthday. We went to Joplin to shop and eat and Mason was so good all day. Of course he slept all day so he is now going to be awake all night! We only had one small disaster at the mall. I always pack Mason extra outfits in case we have any "accidents." Well, I never thought I should pack extra clothes for Mommy. When I changed him he peed all over me! So much fun having a little boy! I survived and luckily it dried fast so no one could tell. I could not believe he slept through the cooking and loud noises at the Japanese Steak House for dinner. He would hear a loud noise, open his eyes, look around, and go right back to sleep.
