Smiling for Momma

Play time

Mason is so active now that he is able to enjoy his turtle play mat. Rosie thinks it's for her too..... He kicks his legs and waves his arms and by accident will hit the toys dangling down in front of him. It's so much fun watching his eyes light up when he sees the toys and all of the bright colors.

Finally!

Saturday night Mason's umbilical cord finally came off. He will be 2 months old Monday, I can't believe it took so long to fall off! He has his 2 month check up Monday and the Doctor told us if it was still on by then he would have to do something to get it off. I guess it happened just in time. My baby finally has a belly button! I can't wait to to be able to give him a real bath now!

Happy Birthday Grammy!

Today was Mason's Grammy's birthday. We went to Joplin to shop and eat and Mason was so good all day. Of course he slept all day so he is now going to be awake all night! We only had one small disaster at the mall. I always pack Mason extra outfits in case we have any "accidents." Well, I never thought I should pack extra clothes for Mommy. When I changed him he peed all over me! So much fun having a little boy! I survived and luckily it dried fast so no one could tell. I could not believe he slept through the cooking and loud noises at the Japanese Steak House for dinner. He would hear a loud noise, open his eyes, look around, and go right back to sleep.

Blowing Bubbles

Surviving Minnesota!

Yesterday was our first day home from our big trip. Jamie's best friend got married last weekend in Minnesota and we were there from Thursday night to Sunday. It was a 9 1/2 hour drive but took 12 with all of our stops. Mason was so good the whole trip. He slept and played well in the car, slept through the night the whole weekend, didn't cry through the ceremony, and didn't fuss at all. As soon as we hit the Kansas state line Sunday night he became fussy. It was like he knew we were home so he needed to go back to his old ways. I think we realized that he is afraid of the dark already. He started crying when he woke up in the car and there were no lights on. I then realized that every night when he's asleep there is some kind of light on. Several of Jamie's friends have babies very close to Mason's age but Mason is so much bigger than all of them. I guess he's just a healthy eater! Tomorrow he will be 8 weeks old and he has almost outgrown his 0-3 month clothes. Don't worry, mommy and daddy had fun buying 3-6 month clothing at Baby gap last weekend. We visited the Mall of America on Friday. It was so neat but I wish Mason was older to have enjoyed it. It was so overwhelming being there! So many stores with very little time. I was so happy that the trip went so well, I was very nervous about going. I couldn't have done it without the help of Jamie's sister though. Thanks again Jen! Mason has changed so much. He went from sleeping all the time, to hardly napping at all during the day. He loves to watch people and make noises. He now locks his legs to stand up when I'm holding him on my lap. It's so cute how each day he is getting more of a personality!
